Stitch Fix Review October 2016: Outfits for My New Shoes

My Lucky number 20 Octoberfix!

I challenged my stylist to send clothes to match my shoes

For my October fix, I wasn't sure what to write in my note. I wasn't feeling like I wanted or was missing anything. I considered skipping a month. It's Fall, but still warm! I did just buy some cool oxford loafers on clearance at DSW. Do you all love DSW like I do? I can't stay away from that place. I go in for some simple black flats and leave with some leopard heels and purple and pink sneakers. What?! Anyway- I thought since I am not looking for anything particularly Fall-ish. I'll ask her to send outfits for my shoes! Yes a fix for my shoes! I included the shoes in my pinterest board then pinned outfits that featured oxford-type shoes or loafers.

Most of the outfits I pinned were quite preppy and menswear-inspired. Like with blazers, button downs, vests, v-neck sweaters, plaid, skinny pants or trousers and also leather-looking pants. So that is what I pinned and if you watch my video below you'll see this is pretty much exactly what she sent! I didn't realize this until I edited my video and added my pins which I hadn't looked at for a while.

Here's the unboxing video :)

Items in no particular order:
PAPERMOON #27687-866
Violeta 3/4 Sleeve Blouse ($48)

All this scallop detail is awesome! Cute flare type sleeves. A scoop neckline that'll go with any necklace. Here I styled it with jeans and peep-toe heels. I tried a skirt but the way the top flows kind of straight made me look very boxy with a pencil skirt. I'm going to keep trying other skirts though. The blazer over top may help. But here's the back- nice!

MARKET & SPRUCE #28353-959
Mahinmi Button Down Top ($64)

Super lightweight, very soft, on-trend color button down top. Bonus: Comes with a matching camisole with those inside strap buttons! The back detail makes it interesting and modern. I don't know what that is called but it looks cool, right? I like the texture and subtle pattern. have yet to see how the sleeves do being cuffed or rolled. This will probably happen many a day. I paired it with my simple black ankle pants and THE SHOES. How does it look? Time to dress up some jeans with this top.

SKIES ARE BLUE #28569-837
Asa Knit Blazer ($68)
I threw this over my stripey Target tank top with some Mavi straight leg jeans and THE shoes. PIECE of Cake. Easy, comfortable, stylish, no? I'm looking forward to trying it with skirts, dresses and all my pants! I did try it with a black top and that was interesting because it looked like the black cuffs belonged to the shirt like I'd rolled them up with the jacket. A new level of easy style.

LIVERPOOL #28290-624
Maisy Coated Skinny Pant ($78)

Despite pinning pants that looked just like these, I was half-expecting some trouser or office type pants. These were a nice surprise for someone who forgets what they pin. They went on quite snug but then just fitted and stretched to my legs. True to leggings. Here I put them with my long gray Calvin Klein sweater from Costco. I wasn't sure about pairing them with a regular length top since they're technically a legging. I'm still pondering that. They'll for sure go with all my longer tops though!

ROMOLO #25563-924
Genevieve Stacked Chevron Pendant Necklace ($28)

A nice shiny gold necklace to boost almost any outfit! Done. Sold.

MY STYLIST FOR THE WIN! I Love it all... What do you think of how I styled it? They all seem like versatile, fashionable pieces. I hope to get a lot of wear out of each one!

  2. OH man I love almost everything you got! The only thing I'm not a fan of is the black top but that's just me.
